... System 9098
products follow in the footsteps of
the 9098 Console sharing many of the same features
and impeccable clarity of sound quality.
The Remote Controlled Microphone Amplifier

.
The SYSTEM 9098 Remote
Controlled Microphone Amplifier consists of four
discrete microphone amplifier channels which can be
controlled manually,
from an optional remote controller, or from the Supertrue
VFX System.
Features include:
Rupert Neve designed audio signal path, virtual class A
operation, no VCA's or
DCA's.
TLA (Transformerless Amplifier) input stage.
Can be situated adjacent to microphone, minimising
low-level signal runs.
Capable of driving 1km of cable with no discernable
degradation.
Normal (studio) and Distribution (broadcast) modes.
Three transformer-coupled outputs per channel - fully
isolated in Distribution
mode.
Optional 20 bit A-to-D converter card provides dual
AES/EBU outputs.
Integral PFL/monitor system.
Channels can be stereo linked.
40 point bargraph meters, with peak hold and overload
indication.
Gain adjustable in 6dB steps from 0dB to 66dB (1dB steps
to 71dB gain with
A-to-D option.
SAFE mode to prevent accidental alteration of local
control parameters.
The Dual
Microphone Amplifier

The SYSTEM 9098 Dual
Microphone Amplifier consists of two independant
microphone amplifier channels which may be linked for
stereo use. In addition
the Direct Injection inputs allow instruments to be
inserted directly into the
device.
Housed in a 1U rack-mounted box, the unit is
self-powered. All controls are located on
the front panel.
The SYSTEM 9098 DMA is an extremely high-performance unit
designed by Rupert to
meet the criteria he has set out over the years and which
remain the benchmark against
which all analogue audio designs should be measured.
The Equaliser

The SYSTEM 9098
Equaliser is a high performance Equaliser and
Preamplifier
designed to originate microphone signals of the highest
quality and to process
signals generally in terms of frequency response.
The circuitry is based on the research put into the 9098
console and the approach
bears many similarities to that used in the 9098.
Paramount importance has been given
to the sonic quality of the audio path, taking great care
to retain the highly-prized
musical character of the famous old designs of this
pedigree.
The Dual
Compressor/Limiter

The SYSTEM 9098 Dual
Compressor/Limiter, designed by Rupert Neve,
provides Compression, Limiting and Ambience controls on
each channel. The
two channels may be linked for stereo operation.
Firmly based on the performance and character of the
historical 2254 Compressor
developed by Rupert in the 1960's, this new unit
incorporates the progression in his
design concepts over the past thirty years. A greater
degree of operational flexibility is
coupled with a much higher overall performance
specification. However, traditional
features which have been Rupert's hallmark have been
retained, notably the
transformer-coupled inputs and outputs.
